Functional Medicine Tests
Functional medicine is a personalized approach to health that uses specialized lab testing to evaluate how the body is functioning - often identifying imbalances before disease develops. This service is not medical care or a diagnosis and does not replace care from a licensed physician.
By assessing inflammatory markers, metabolic patterns, nutrient status, hormone balance, gut health, and other functional indicators, this science-based approach allows for targeted, individualized support rather than symptom-based care alone.

All functional medicine services at Natural Harmony Wellness Center are remote only, with appointments being held by video or phone.

Gut Health - Adult
GI Effects (stool) - Broad overview for Infections & Intestinal Health. A comprehensive 3-day functional stool test that looks at digestion, inflammation, infection (parasites, bacteria, yeast), and microbiome function. Best for IBS, leaky gut, metabolic imbalances.

BiomeFX (stool) - Advanced Gut Microbiome Analysis. For persistent bloating, gas, irregular bowel habits, IBS-like symptoms, or other gut discomfort. It’s a high-level microbiome mapping test that looks at whether your gut bacteria are producing more irritating waste products (like ammonia or methane) or more protective compounds that support a healthy gut lining. Best for understanding overall gut ecosystem health rather than finding infections.

GI Map + Zonulin (stool) - Parasites & Leaky Gut. Very specific for pathogens and overgrowth, with a focus on parasites, bacteria (incl. H.Pylori), yeast, viruses, and leaky gut. Best when parasites are suspected or for unresolved chronic gut symptoms, and detecting hidden infections & root causes of autoimmune triggers.
Gut Health - Children
Child Gut Health Test (stool) - This test checks for microbes associated with common childhood issues like constipation, sleep disturbances, and metabolic health. Identifies over 120,000 microbes, including fungi, parasites, and opportunistic pathogens that may contribute to chronic inflammation.. This test is designed for kids ages 3 to 18.

Baby Gut Health Test (stool) - This test calculates a "microbiome age" to see if your baby’s gut development is on track for their actual age. Specifically measures bacteria (like B. infantis) capable of digesting Human Milk Oligosaccharides (HMOs) found in breast milk or formula. Identifies microbial patterns typical in babies born via C-section and provides strategies to restore a more optimal balance. This test is designed for babies and toddlers, ages 0 - 3 years old.
Women's Health
DUTCH Complete (urine) - An at-home, dried urine test that provides a comprehensive, 24-hour analysis of sex and adrenal hormones, including cortisol patterns and metabolism. It is used to identify hormonal imbalances underlying symptoms like fatigue, stress, sleep issues, and PMS. Best for menopausal symptoms, brain fog, fatigue and PCOS.

Vaginal BiomeFX (swab) - Assesses the vaginal microbial environment for protective vs pathogenic dynamics. Provides early detection of dysbiosis that may lead to infections, STI risk, miscarriage, preterm labour, pelvic inflammatory disease risk.

Pregnancy Gut Health (stool) - This is a specialized, at-home, CLIA-certified stool test designed for those trying to conceive, pregnant, or new moms. It uses shotgun metagenomic sequencing to identify bacteria, fungi, and parasites, assessing gut diversity, metabolic health, inflammation, and potential risks for conditions like eczema or asthma in the baby. This test is designed for women who are trying to conceive, pregnant, or new moms
Pregnancy Vaginal Health Test (swab) - A vaginal microbiome health test for women over 18. Shotgun metagenomics testing will give you strain-level resolution and the most accurate relative abundances. The report includes Vaginal CST identity. Often recommended alongside Pregnancy Gut Health test during pregnancy to optimize the microbes the baby is exposed to during a vaginal birth.
Food Allergies & Sensitivities
IgG Food Map w/Candida & Yeast (Blood Spot) - Gut, skin, brain fog, issues. The IgG Food MAP analyzes 190 different foods common in Western, Asian, and Mediterranean diets, as well as candida and yeast, to determine food sensitivities - (dairy to vegetables, grains, herbs, spices, etc.) plus IgG results for Candida albicans and Saccharomyces cerevisiae (yeasts).

Cyrex Array 10 (Serum) - Autoimmune Issues, Inflammation or Unexplained Sensitivities. The unique feature of this food immune reactivity assay is the measurement of IgG and IgA antibodies against raw and cooked food antigens that are associated with many autoimmune disorders, including dairy and eggs, grains, beans, nuts and seeds, vegetables, fruit, fish and seafood, meats, herbs, spices, gums, brewed beverages, and additives. Phlebotomy required (included in price).
Environmental Allergies & Toxins
ToxDetect (urine) - Common Chemicals - Evaluates a patient's exposure to common chemicals found in the environment. Screens for 172 different toxic compounds via urine, including glyphosate, common insectisides, plasticizers and solvents.

MycoTox (urine) - Mold - Identifies hidden mold exposures that contribute to fatigue, immune dysfunction, respiratory problems, neurological symptoms, and chronic inflammation. This test also monitors mold detox efficacy.

Hair Elements (hair) - Heavy Metals - This profile provides information regarding recent and ongoing exposure to several toxic metals and the status of specific nutrient elements. This noninvasive screening test requires only .25 grams of hair.

Chemical Immune Reactivity Cyrex 11 (serum) - Immune Response to Chemicals - Measures the immune response to different toxic chemicals or their metabolites bound to human tissue proteins. This includes mycotoxins, plasticizers, fire retardants, dry cleaning materials, cosmetics, and heavy metals. This test detects a person’s health risks from exposure to toxic chemicals, formation of chemical body burden, and their associations with inflammation and autoimmune disorders. Phlebotomy required (included in price).
Cognition & Neurodegenerative
Alzheimers LINX (serum) - Detects Alzheimer's-associated immune reactivity. It helps identify patients at a greater risk of developing Alzheimer's disease or other neurological disorders, identify the early stage of neurodegenerative processes, and monitor the effectiveness of lifestyle modifications for Alzheimer's disease. Phlebotomy required (included in price).

Leaky Brain Array 20 (serum) - Measures antibodies against major proteins in the blood-brain barriers against neuroautoimmunity and neurodegenerative disorders. Detects breaches of the blood-brain barriers due to various factors, including gut bacterial toxins, gut-originated amyloid beta protein and peptides, and many environmental factors, such as foods, toxic chemicals, and pathogens. This array also helps in investigating traumatic brain injuries, sport-related or otherwise. Phlebotomy required (included in price).
Autoimmune
Autoimmune Reactivity Array 5 (serum) - Early Autoimmune Detection. Measures antibodies against different tissue antigens that are found from head to toe. These tissues are involved in more than 90 different autoimmune diseases. Detection of antibodies against these antigens at the early stage helps in the prevention and management of many autoimmune disorders since these predictive antibodies can be detected 3-19 years before the development of the clinical stage of an autoimmune disease. Phlebotomy required (included in price).
Brain Autoimmunity Array 7X (serum) - Neuro-Autoimmunity Screen. Measures antibodies that are detected in patients with a variety of neuroimmune disorders, chronic fatigue/fibromyalgia, viral infections including SARS-CoV-2, EBV, CMV, HHV-6, long COVID, autism, ADD/ADHD, neuropsychiatric disorders, and exposure to toxic chemicals and molds and mycotoxins. Phlebotomy required (included in price).
